FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How does transferable benefits work?
If member A and B are both members of PrimoHEALTH, and member A has 3 visits left for the year and member B has none left, the benefits of A can be shared with B for the rest of the active year.
2. Can I visit outside the Primo network?
Yes, however this must be justified and communicated to PrimoHEALTH by the doctor before the consultation to a limit of R500/year. PrimoHEALTH cannot be held liable for the service received by doctors outside the network.
3. What is covered under the day-to-day consultations?
The full consultation with a medical doctor is covered, any injections and medication issued by the doctor during the consultation is also covered. The only medication for your own account would be scripted/ chronic medication.
4. Can I take out cover for my mother or child without being a member myself?
Yes, you can obtain membership for any family or non-family member as long as you remain the paying entity.
5. Can I increase my benefits midway through the year?
Yes, a consultant can be contacted in this regard.
6. What is the waiting period after joining?
The waiting period for new members and changing memberships are both 2 months of paid premiums.
7. If I do not comply with the payment plan, will my benefits be suspended?
Yes, your benefits will be suspended, and you will be granted 1 month’s grace to bring your account up to date. If you have any difficulties paying, please contact a consultant so that we can arrange for your benefits to be active until payment can be made during the month pending suspension.
8. Can I arrange that my Government Clinic medication be sent to a CommunityMed branch?
Yes, please contact a consultant in this regard
